The Story Behind Clarity Log

Built from real experience. Created to help others.

Clarity Log didn't start as a business idea. It started as something I needed myself.

I'm a separated father from Liverpool, and during my own experiences with co-parenting, separation and the family court process, I found myself dealing with situations where keeping an accurate record of events became increasingly important.

Initially, I only documented the incidents I considered particularly serious, usually through notes on my phone or screenshots of conversations.

But over time, I realised something.

It wasn't just the bigger incidents that were worth remembering. Sometimes the smaller details mattered too.

Before I knew it, I had more than 20 incidents recorded, with information scattered between notes, screenshots and messages. Finding something from months earlier was becoming unnecessarily difficult.

So I decided to do something about it.

I created the first version of Clarity Log as a simple web app, purely for my own personal use.

I wanted one organised place where I could record important interactions, keep everything in chronological order and easily find information whenever I needed it.

As time went on, following mediation and court proceedings, the number of incidents I needed to document gradually decreased.

But I continued thinking about the app I'd created.

If I'd found it useful during a difficult period of my life, perhaps other people would too.

That's when Clarity Log became something more than a personal project.

Today, Clarity Log is available on iOS and Android, helping people privately organise important interactions, conversations and events.

Although it was inspired by my own co-parenting experiences, I wanted it to be useful in many other situations too — from workplace disagreements to tenancy issues and everyday circumstances where keeping an accurate record can make a difference.

My aim has always been simple.

To give people an easier way to keep track of what matters, without having to rely on memory alone.
